Jammu & Kashmir Government Approves 178 New Posts for High Court

Jammu/Srinagar, March 10, 2025 – The Government of Jammu and Kashmir, through the Department of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, has sanctioned the creation of 178 posts across various categories for the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

The decision was made following the Council of Ministers as per Decision No. 027/08/2025, dated February 24, 2025. The official government order, numbered 2866-JK(LD) of 2025, was issued on March 10, 2025.

The newly created positions span multiple levels, from administrative and clerical roles to support staff. The key designations and their corresponding number of vacancies are as follows:

• Registrar – 6 posts
• Additional Registrar – 3 posts
• Joint Registrar – 6 posts
• Deputy Registrar – 8 posts
• Secretary – 1 post
• Assistant Registrar – 10 posts
• Reader – 6 posts
• Senior Scale Stenographer – 10 posts
• Junior Scale Stenographer – 10 posts
• Head Assistant – 6 posts
• Steno Typist – 10 posts
• Restorer – 2 posts
