Government Medical College, Srinagar – Recruitment Notification for Contractual Positions at Addiction Treatment Facility

The Government of Jammu and Kashmir, through Government Medical College, Srinagar, has released Advertisement Notification No. 17 of EC of 2025, dated 22-05-2025, inviting online applications from eligible candidates for engagement on a contractual basis for positions at the Addiction Treatment Facility (ATF) under the Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences Kashmir (Psychiatry). This initiative is supported by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MOSJE), Government of India, and coordinated by the National Drug Dependence Treatment Centre (NDDTC), AIIMS, New Delhi.

  • Last Date for Submission: 05-06-2025 (up to 04:00 PM)

Available Positions:

  1. Medical Officer

    • Qualification: MBBS from a recognized institution with valid Medical Council Registration
    • Consolidated Emoluments: Rs. 60,000/- per month

  2. Nurse

    • Qualification: GNM or B.Sc Nursing from a recognized institution
    • Consolidated Emoluments: Rs. 20,000/- per month

  3. Counsellor

    • Qualification: Graduate in Psychology, Social Work, or Sociology
    • Consolidated Emoluments: Rs. 20,000/- per month

Terms and Conditions:

  1. The appointment is purely contractual and does not confer any right to permanent employment. A legally attested affidavit will be required, stating that the candidate shall not claim permanent employment in the future.
  2. The initial engagement period is one year, extendable based on performance and subject to availability of budget and continuation of the scheme.
  3. Engagement may be terminated without notice for willful negligence or refusal to perform duties, with no salary paid for such periods.
  4. No TA/DA will be paid for participation in the written test.
  5. Selected candidates must sign an agreement committing to the one-year term. Early termination requires one-month notice or forfeiture of one month’s remuneration.
  6. Candidates must have valid registration of the relevant degree/diploma with MCI/SMF/PMC.
  7. Selected candidates are expected to perform duties as assigned under the scheme.

Age Limit (as of application submission date):

  • Medical Officer: Not more than 65 years
  • Nurse and Counsellor: Not more than 45 years

Note: Candidates must possess all requisite original documents/certificates at the time of application. No document issued after the cutoff date will be accepted.
