PM-SYM Pension Scheme – Get ₹3,000 Per Month


Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan-dhan (PM-SYM)

Overview:
The Government of India has introduced a pension scheme for unorganised workers named Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan-dhan (PM-SYM) to ensure old-age protection for Unorganised Workers.

Eligible unorganised workers are those mostly engaged as home-based workers, street vendors, landless labourers, own account workers, agricultural workers, or in other similar occupations with a monthly income up to ₹15,000 and belonging to the age group of 18–40 years.

Benefits:

  • The scheme provides pension benefits to unorganised workers (details and comprehensive benefits are available on the Ministry of Labour & Employment website).

How to Apply:

Details on scheme eligibility, the enrolment process, and the location of facilitation centres/CSC points are available on the LIC website and the Ministry of Labour & Employment site. Beneficiaries may visit facilitation desks at District Labour Offices, LIC offices, Central Labour Offices, and EPF & ESIC offices for assistance.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Must be an unorganised worker.
  2. Entry age: Between 18 and 40 years.
  3. Monthly income: ₹15,000 or below.

Exclusions:

  • Should not be engaged in the organised sector or have membership of EPF/NPS/ESIC.
  • Should not be an income tax payer.

Required Documents/Details:

  • Aadhaar card.
  • Savings Bank / Jan-Dhan account number with IFSC.

Enrolment Process:

  1. Visit the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) (locations listed on LIC, Ministry of Labour & Employment, or CSC portals).
  2. Carry Aadhaar card, bank account details, and the initial contribution amount.
  3. The Village Level Entrepreneur (VLE) at the CSC will enter Aadhaar and verify details with UIDAI.
  4. Additional personal details (mobile number, spouse/nominee info) are captured and eligibility self-certified.
  5. The system auto-calculates the monthly contribution based on age.
  6. The subscriber pays the first subscription in cash, and a receipt is generated.
  7. An Enrolment Form cum Auto Debit mandate is printed and signed, then uploaded.
  8. A unique Shram Yogi Pension Account Number and card are issued.
  9. The subscriber receives regular SMS updates about auto-debit activation and account details.
