​The Reserve Bank of India, the nation's central bank, has invited applications from eligible Indian citizens for the post of Office Attendant. This is a significant opportunity for individuals seeking a stable career in the banking sector with a minimum educational qualification of 10th Standard.

1. Important Dates

​Aspiring candidates must adhere to the following timeline to ensure their applications are submitted successfully:

  • Notification Date: January 15, 2026
  • Commencement of Online Registration: January 15, 2026
  • Last Date for Online Application: February 4, 2026
  • Last Date for Payment of Fees: February 4, 2026
  • Tentative Date of Online Test: February 28 & March 1, 2026

2. Vacancy Details

​A total of 572 posts have been announced. The vacancies are distributed across various regional offices, including but not limited to:

  • Kanpur & Lucknow: 125 posts
  • Kolkata: 90 posts
  • New Delhi: 61 posts
  • Guwahati: 52 posts
  • Jaipur: 42 posts
  • Mumbai: 33 posts
  • (Other offices include Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Patna).

3. Eligibility Criteria

​To be eligible for the RBI Office Attendant post, candidates must fulfill the following:

  • Educational Qualification: * Candidates must have passed 10th Standard (S.S.C./Matriculation) from a recognized board of the concerned State/UT.
    • Crucial Note: Candidates who are graduates or possess higher qualifications as of January 1, 2026, are not eligible to apply.
  • Age Limit (as of Jan 1, 2026):
    • ​Minimum: 18 years
    • ​Maximum: 25 years
    • (Age relaxation applies for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen as per Government of India norms).
  • Language Proficiency: The candidate must be proficient in the local language of the state/UT falling under the recruiting office.

4. Selection Process

​The selection will be based on a two-stage process:

  1. Online Competitive Test: An objective-type exam covering Reasoning, General English, General Awareness, and Numerical Ability.
  2. Language Proficiency Test (LPT): Candidates who qualify the online test will undergo a test in the local language of the region they applied for. The LPT is qualifying in nature.

5. Salary and Benefits

​Selected candidates will receive a starting basic pay of approximately ₹24,250/- per month. Including various allowances (Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance, etc.), the total monthly gross emoluments are estimated to be around ₹46,029/-.

6. Application Fee

  • General/OBC/EWS Candidates: ₹450 + 18% GST
  • SC/ST/PwBD/EXS Candidates: ₹50 + 18% GST
