DSEK Issues Select List for General, Science-Math & Urdu Teacher Posts in Kashmir Division
Srinagar, July 20: The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has released the Select List for the posts of General Teacher, Science-Math Teacher, and Urdu Teacher in the School Education Department across various districts of the Kashmir Division.
The selection has been issued through Order No. 264-DSEK of 2026 and pertains to candidates advertised under JKSSB Advertisement Notification No. 06 of 2017 dated December 28, 2017.
Districts Covered
The select list includes candidates for the following districts:
- Anantnag
- Baramulla
- Bandipora
- Budgam
- Ganderbal
- Kulgam
- Kupwara
- Pulwama
- Shopian
- Srinagar
Reason for the Selection
The appointments relate to candidates whose recommendations were previously kept pending due to issues concerning overlapping educational qualifications. Following the recommendations of the committee constituted by the Government and subsequent decisions of the competent authority, DSEK has now finalized the selection process.
The order also takes into account the judgment of the Hon'ble Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), which upheld the Government's decision regarding scrutiny of overlapping degrees.
Instructions for Selected Candidates
All selected candidates must complete the following formalities before joining their respective posts:
- Verification of educational and other required certificates.
- Character and antecedent verification.
- Medical fitness examination.
- Submission of affidavits and other prescribed documents.
- Fulfilment of all conditions mentioned in the appointment order.
The Directorate has directed the concerned Chief Education Officers (CEOs) and other authorities to ensure proper verification of documents before allowing the candidates to join.
