JKSSB Shortlists Candidates for Junior Assistant Skill Test; Type Test to Begin in July
Jammu, July 1: The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has issued a notification regarding the shortlisting of candidates for the Skill Test (Type Test) for the post of Junior Assistant (Various Departments) advertised under Notification No. 08 of 2025.
According to the notification, the OMR-based written examination for the Junior Assistant posts was conducted on 19 April 2026 for Item Nos. 163–179, 183–214, 218–232, 234, 237–240, 243–245, 248, 250 & 251.
Following the examination, JKSSB released the provisional answer key and invited objections from candidates. After examining the objections received, the Board published the revised/final answer key on 24 June 2026.
The Board has now shortlisted eligible candidates for the Skill Test (Type Test). The typing test is tentatively scheduled to commence from the first fortnight of July 2026 at NIELIT Jammu/Srinagar.
The list of shortlisted candidates has been published as Annexure "A" to the notification. JKSSB stated that the exact dates of the Skill Test and the schedule for downloading admit cards will be notified separately.
Important Instructions for Candidates
- Mere shortlisting for the Skill Test does not guarantee final selection.
- Candidates who fail to appear in the Skill Test will lose their claim for further consideration.
- Candidates must carry their admit card along with one original photo identity proof such as Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, PAN Card, or Passport.
- Candidates found ineligible at the time of the Skill Test will not be allowed to participate.
- Any candidate found involved in impersonation, submitting fabricated documents, providing false information, or canvassing will face disqualification and legal action.
- No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the Skill Test.
Candidates are advised to regularly visit the official JKSSB website for updates regarding admit cards and the Skill Test schedule.
