DSEK Issues Select List for Teacher Posts in Kashmir Division

DSEK Issues Appointment Order for 10 More Teacher Candidates Under JKSSB 2017 Selection

The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has issued an order for the temporary appointment of 10 more candidates recommended for the posts of General Teacher, Science-Math Teacher and Urdu Teacher under the erstwhile JKSSB selection process initiated through Advertisement Notification No. 06 of 2017 dated December 28, 2017.

The order, issued as Order No. 312 DSEK of 2026 dated August 18, 2026, relates to district-cadre teacher posts in various districts of Kashmir Division.

Background of the Selection

The Administrative Department had originally referred 2,154 teacher posts, including 1,864 posts belonging to Kashmir Division, to the J&K Service Selection Board. These posts were advertised by JKSSB through Notification No. 06 of 2017.

Recommendations of several selected/wait-listed candidates had remained pending due to issues concerning overlapping or dual qualifications. The matter was subsequently examined by the competent authorities, and the select/wait lists were revalidated in eligible cases.

In June 2026, approval was conveyed for the revalidation of the selection/wait list in respect of 57 candidates against vacancies arising due to non-joining of candidates.

57 Candidates Approved for Revalidation

The approved candidates belonged to the districts of Anantnag, Bandipora, Baramulla, Budgam, Ganderbal, Kulgam, Kupwara, Pulwama, Shopian and Srinagar.

Following the approval, DSEK directed the candidates to submit their testimonials and certificates for verification of their Character and Antecedents.

Out of the 57 candidates, 36 candidates reported within the prescribed period. Satisfactory Character and Antecedents reports were initially received for 19 candidates, who were appointed and adjusted through DSEK Order No. 264 of 2026 dated July 20, 2026.

The Directorate has now received satisfactory Character and Antecedents reports for 10 additional candidates through the designated J&K CID portal. Accordingly, temporary appointment has been sanctioned in their favour.

Documents Required at the Time of Joining

The appointees will be allowed to join only after producing the required original documents for verification, including:

  • Academic Qualification Certificate
  • Date of Birth Certificate
  • Health Certificate issued by the Chief Medical Officer of the concerned district
  • Domicile Certificate
  • No Loan Certificate under the Self Employment Scheme from the concerned DIC and Employment Department
  • Undertaking regarding absence of criminal records

Important Conditions of Appointment

The appointment is subject to verification of the candidates' educational qualifications, date of birth and other certificates. If any certificate is found to be fake or forged, the appointment will be cancelled from the beginning and legal action may be initiated under the applicable rules.

The salary of the appointees will not be drawn or released until satisfactory verification reports regarding their qualifications and other certificates are received from the concerned authorities.

The candidates are required to join within 21 days from the date of issuance of the appointment order. Failure to join within the prescribed period will result in cancellation of the appointment.

The appointees will also be governed by the applicable service rules, including provisions relating to inter-se seniority, the New Pension Scheme and a two-year probation period.
