J&K Power Tariff Hiked by 6.83% from September 1, 2026
The Jammu & Kashmir power tariff has been increased by 6.83%, with the revised electricity rates coming into effect from September 1, 2026, as per the JERC Tariff Order 2026–27.
Domestic Consumers
The revised electricity rates for domestic consumers are:
- Up to 200 units: ₹2.45 per unit, up from ₹2.30
- 201–400 units: ₹4.20 per unit, up from ₹4.00
- Above 400 units: ₹4.60 per unit, up from ₹4.35
The fixed charge has also been increased from ₹8 to ₹10 per kW per month.
BPL Consumers
For BPL consumers:
- Up to 30 units: ₹1.40 per unit
The tariff for this category has not been increased.
Commercial Consumers
The revised tariff for commercial consumers is:
- Up to 200 units: ₹3.75 per unit
- Above 200 units: ₹5.70 per unit
- 3-Phase supply: ₹6.15 per kVAh
Agriculture Consumers
For agricultural connections up to 20 HP, the revised electricity tariff is:
₹1.05 per unit
Effective Date
The revised electricity tariff will come into effect from September 1, 2026, under the JERC Tariff Order 2026–27.
Consumers are expected to see the revised rates reflected in their electricity bills from the September 2026 billing cycle.
