Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a Maharatna Government of India enterprise, has released an official notification for the engagement of Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961. The apprenticeship training will be for a period of one year under Northern Region Transmission System-II (NR-II).
Eligible candidates can apply online for Graduate, Diploma and ITI apprenticeship trades.

Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess the required full-time regular qualification from a recognized institute/university.
- ITI Electrician: Full-time ITI in Electrician Trade.
- Diploma Electrical: Full-time 3-year Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Diploma Civil: Full-time 3-year Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- Graduate Electrical: Full-time 4-year B.E./B.Tech./B.Sc. (Engg.) in Electrical Engineering.
- Graduate Civil: Full-time 4-year B.E./B.Tech./B.Sc. (Engg.) in Civil Engineering.
Part-time, correspondence, distance-learning and online-mode qualifications are not eligible as per the notification.
Age Limit and Eligibility
Candidates must have completed 18 years of age at the time of application.
Candidates must have passed their qualifying examination within two years from the closing date of application. The notification specifies the relevant qualification completion period as 11 September 2024 to 10 September 2026.
Candidates are not eligible if they:
- Are awaiting the final examination result.
- Have not completed 18 years of age.
- Have already undergone apprenticeship training in any organization for any duration.
- Have more than one year of job experience.

The stipend for Diploma Apprentices includes DBT of ₹5,450, while Graduate Apprentices include DBT of ₹6,150 under the NATS scheme.
An additional ₹2,500 per month may be paid if company accommodation is not provided, subject to applicable conditions.

- Apprenticeship Registration/Enrolment Number under NATS/NAPS.
- Educational certificates and mark sheets.
- Matriculation certificate or other proof of age.
- SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD certificate, if applicable.
- Bank cancelled cheque or first page of passbook for DBT-enabled account.
- Recent passport-size colour photograph.
- Signature.
NAPS/NATS Registration
Before applying to POWERGRID, candidates must complete the required apprenticeship registration.
- ITI Electrician candidates: Register through the NAPS portal.
- Degree/Diploma candidates: Register through the NATS portal.
After obtaining the NAPS/NATS registration or enrolment number, candidates must complete the application on the official POWERGRID website.

- Submit the application before the deadline.
There is no application fee, and no written examination or interview process is mentioned for the recruitment.
Selection Process
The selection will be based on merit according to the eligibility criteria and prescribed qualification for the respective trade.
Candidates will be shortlisted for document/certificate verification in a 1:5 ratio with respect to the available training slots.
After document verification, final merit-based engagement will be carried out through the apprenticeship contract process on the NATS/NAPS portal, along with the required medical certificate and police verification.
Apprenticeship Training
The total duration of apprenticeship training is one year from the date of joining.
Apprentices must maintain satisfactory performance and attendance. Poor performance or unauthorized absence may lead to termination of the apprenticeship.
The training location will depend on the availability of training facilities and POWERGRID's requirements. The company may also change the training location according to training or job-rotation requirements.
