Railway Recruitment Boards has released the official notification inviting applications for Section Controller posts. There are 368 vacancies open for the mentioned position across different zones. The notification has been published under CEN 04/2025 and candidates can apply online within the given dates.
As per the official notification of RRB, the minimum age limit for the Section Controller post is 20 years and the maximum is 33 years as on January 1, 2026. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per rules. Selected candidates will be placed in Level 6 of the 7th CPC pay matrix with an initial pay of Rs. 35,400 per month. The selection of applicants will be based on CBT, CBAT, document verification and medical examination.

General and OBC candidates must pay an application fee of Rs. 500 while certain reserved categories will pay Rs. 250. Refunds are applicable as mentioned in the notification.

Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification: Graduate degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
- Age Limit: 20–33 years (as on Jan 1, 2026).
- OBC: +3 years
- SC/ST: +5 years
- PwBD: +10 years
- Medical Standard: A-2. Candidates with LASIK or corrective eye surgery are not eligible.
Application Fee
- General/OBC/EWS: Rs. 500 (Rs. 400 refunded after CBT).
- SC/ST/Minority/EBC/PwBD/Female/Transgender/Ex-Servicemen: Rs. 250 (refunded after CBT, minus bank charges).
- Payment via internet banking, debit card, credit card or UPI.
Selection Process

CBT (Computer Based Test):
- 100 questions, 120 minutes.
- Subjects: reasoning, analytical ability, comprehension, related topics.
- Negative marking: 1/3 for wrong answers.

Document Verification & Medical Examination
Final Merit: 70% weightage to CBT + 30% to CBAT.
