J&K Bank Announces Engagement of 614 Apprentices for 2026-27
Jammu & Kashmir Bank has officially released a notification for the engagement of 614 apprentices under the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) for the 2026-27 period. This one-year program is designed to provide practical training to graduates in various branches and offices across Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, and other regions in India.
Key Dates and Vacancy Distribution
The application process is entirely online, following this schedule:
- Online Registration Starts: April 20, 2026.
- Online Registration Ends: April 26, 2026.
- Online Examination Date: To be communicated separately.
The vacancies are distributed across several districts and clusters:
- UT of J&K: 461 vacancies spread across districts like Srinagar (75), Jammu (75), Baramulla (35), and Anantnag (30).
- UT of Ladakh: 18 vacancies (8 in Kargil and 10 in Leh).
- Rest of India (ROI): 135 vacancies across clusters in Delhi (42), Mumbai (26), Mohali (28), Lucknow (20), and Bangalore (19).
Eligibility and Stipend
To be eligible, candidates must meet the following criteria as of January 1, 2026:
- Education: Must have graduated on or after January 1, 2022, from a recognized university.
- Age: Minimum 20 years and maximum 28 years (relaxations apply for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD categories as per government guidelines).
- Language Proficiency: Candidates must be proficient in the local or official language of the applied region and must have studied it as a subject in the 10th or 12th grade.
Engaged apprentices will receive a monthly stipend of ₹13,500. This consists of the Bank's share (₹9,000) and the Government's share (₹4,500), the latter of which is disbursed via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to eligible candidates under 35 years of age. Additionally, apprentices are entitled to a conveyance allowance of up to ₹1,250 per month.
Selection Process
Selection will be based on merit from an objective-type Online Written Test conducted in English. The exam pattern includes:
- General Awareness & English Comprehension: 50 questions (50 marks, 30 minutes).
- Quantitative Aptitude & Reasoning Ability: 50 questions (50 marks, 30 minutes).
A penalty of one-fourth (1/4th) of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for each wrong answer. Merit lists will be drawn based on district/region and category.
Important Application Details
- Application Fee: ₹700 for unreserved categories and ₹500 for reserved categories, payable only through online mode.
- NATS Registration: Candidates must first register on the apprenticeship portal (nats.education.gov.in) before applying on the Bank's website.
- Career Benefit: Domiciles of J&K and Ladakh who successfully complete the program will receive a one-year age relaxation and an additional 2.5% weightage in marks for future recruitment of Banking Associates in J&K Bank.
